With great excitement we're proud to announce that MultiCare a leader in healthcare to Washington residents has chosen Diamond Square as their new home to serve the growing community of Black Diamond. With Diamond Square's leading design and welcoming campus MultiCare and Diamond Square worked to ensure that the residents in the region will have a world class facility to serve their needs. MultiCare has been serving Washington residents for well over a century. Founded as Tacoma's first hospital it's no stranger to the healthcare needs of Puget Sound. Today MultiCare is largest community-based, locally governed health system in the state of Washington, and we couldn't be happier to partner with them on this new space.
Dr. Veronica Hooper, the physician executive of primary care at MultiCare, recently quoted to the Courier Herald
“We’re really looking more and more at serving more and more of our community, and one of the things that we looked at with Black Diamond was, how do we make something comprehensive and local?” Hooper said in a June 10 interview. “Local matters. The community has a different feel in Black Diamond than… in Covington, so how do we come to the community instead of having the communities come to us?
“Black Diamond was one of those locations where we felt there was a need, and we wanted to be part of the community,” .
MultiCare and Diamond Square have been in discussions together for over a year reviewing how we could provide all their needs for the growing community.
Diamond Square co-owner Lee Wittenberg said in the Courier Herald
The fact that MultiCare showed interest in coming to Black Diamond is a “great thing” for the city, he continued. “They’re recognizing the growth that’s going on in that city. It’s a huge validation of what the city’s been doing in terms of its growth.”
We look forward to working together with MultiCare to build a fantastic home for them and all the area residents here in Black Diamond.
